GhostIdentity — Privacy Policy Last updated: May 2026 1. Overview GhostIdentity ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed to protect user privacy. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how. 2. Data We Collect The Extension does not operate any backend server and does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers controlled by the developer. The following data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local: - A disposable email address generated via the mail.tm public API - A mail.tm Bearer authentication token used to retrieve messages for that address - A randomly generated fake persona (name, username, phone, city, country, ZIP) generated via the randomuser.me public API - A list of known mail IDs used to detect new incoming messages All of the above data remains on your device. It is never transmitted to any GhostIdentity-controlled server. 3. Third-Party APIs The Extension communicates directly with two public third-party APIs: - mail.tm (https://api.mail.tm) — used to create disposable email accounts and retrieve incoming messages. Please review mail.tm's own privacy policy at https://mail.tm/en/privacy for details on how they handle email data. - randomuser.me (https://randomuser.me) — used to generate random fake persona data. No user data is sent to this service; it returns only randomly generated details. The Extension does not use Google Analytics, advertising networks, or any other tracking or telemetry service. 4. Permissions The Extension requests only the permissions necessary to fulfill its stated purpose. A full justification for each permission is available on the Chrome Web Store listing page. 5. Data Retention All locally stored data persists until the user clicks "Delete" within the Extension, uninstalls the Extension, or clears their browser storage. No data is retained by the developer after uninstallation. 6. Children's Privacy The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. 7. Changes to This Policy If this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. 8.
